MISSION STATEMENT

Stay at Riverboat B&B – A Historic Bed & Breakfast in Natchez, Mississippi

Our rooms offer the elegance, class, and comfort you have been looking for. With our antique and southern motif, you're sure to enjoy any stay with us, whether you're here on business or for some fun. All of our rooms offer your own private bath, and the entire upstairs suite is available for couples traveling together!  We're a two-minute walk from everything downtown, only one block from the Convention Center and the Mighty Mississippi River!

One of the highlights of staying at the Riverboat B&B is waking up to a sumptuous Southern breakfast! Every morning, Marybeth prepares a gourmet meal for our guests, served in our formal dining room with antique china and a chandelier, or on the back porch terrace if you prefer a fresh air breakfast. We mix up the menu each day, but you can expect hearty, homemade dishes that give you a true taste of the South. A typical breakfast might include: fluffy scrambled farm eggs from a local farm or a savory egg casserole, crispy bacon or sausage, buttery grits or hashbrown casserole, fresh seasonal fruit, and an array of fresh-baked pastries or breads. Marybeth is known for her homemade jams and jellies – don’t miss her strawberry jam on a warm biscuit!

Guests also rave about our buttermilk pancakes and French toast casserole that make an appearance on some mornings.  And of course, we have plenty of hot Community Coffee (a Louisiana roast favored in Natchez) as well as a selection of teas and juices to get your day started. We serve breakfast family-style at 8:30 AM (flexible by arrangement), which often turns into a delightful social hour. Guests from all over the country and world gather around our table, sharing travel tales and enjoying the meal. It’s not unusual for breakfast conversation to linger on – you’re on vacation, after all! If you need to eat earlier (for an early departure or tour), let us know and we can prepare a to-go breakfast bag or a simpler early meal.

We’re happy to accommodate vegetarian, gluten-free, or other special diets with advance notice. Just tell us when you book, and we’ll make sure you’re well fed with something you can enjoy. Not a morning person? No problem – we’ll gently knock on your door at breakfast time, but if you prefer to sleep in, we can save your breakfast for later. We want you to feel like you’re at home here. At Riverboat B&B, you won’t go hungry – Southern hospitality means we love to feed our guests well!

For Our European Travelers (Exploring the Deep South)

We have a special fondness for our international guests, especially those adventuring through the Deep South and along the historic Natchez Trace. If you’re visiting from Europe (or anywhere abroad), we extend an extra warm welcome! Traveling so far from home can be daunting, but rest assured you’ll find a comfortable haven with us in Natchez. Many European travelers plan road trips from New Orleans to Nashville (or vice versa) – and Natchez is a must-stop destination on that journey for its history and charm. The Riverboat B&B is an ideal place to experience authentic Southern culture and recharge during your travels. What European Travelers Love About Riverboat B&B:

A Taste of the Real South: This isn’t a cookie-cutter chain hotel – you’ll stay in a 160-year-old home filled with history, giving you a genuine experience of Southern heritage. From the antique furnishings to the stories Marybeth shares about Natchez and her family, you’ll get insights into local history and traditions that you’d never get staying on the highway at a motel. We can even arrange or suggest tours of nearby antebellum homes and other cultural sites so you make the most of your Deep South exploration.

Perfect Natchez Trace Stopover: Driving the Natchez Trace Parkway? We’re located at the southern terminus of this famous scenic road. After you’ve cruised 444 miles through forests and countryside, reward yourself with a relaxing stay at our B&B. (We have secure, free parking for your car or motorcycle.) We’ve hosted many Trace Travelers – including groups from Europe touring the Deep South – and we’re happy to share tips on notable stops along the route.

Walkable Small-Town Charm: International visitors often remark how nice it is to park the car and explore on foot. Natchez is a very walkable city, and from our B&B you can easily walk to historic churches, the riverfront, restaurants, pubs, and even the local farmers’ market (if you’re here on a weekend). Stretch your legs, enjoy the warm Mississippi breeze, and say hello to friendly locals downtown. It’s a refreshing change if you’ve been driving long distances.

Friendly, Inclusive Atmosphere: Even if English isn’t your first language, you’ll feel at ease here. Marybeth speaks slowly and clearly and loves using maps, brochures, and even a bit of sign language or Google Translate if needed to communicate – whatever helps our guests feel comfortable! Over breakfast, you might meet fellow travelers from around the world. (Recently we hosted a couple from the Netherlands and another from England at the same time – by breakfast’s end, everyone was chatting like old friends.) We find that travel is a universal language – laughter and good food break down any barriers.

Travel Assistance: We know that international travel can come with extra challenges, so we go above and beyond to help. Need laundry done after a long trip? We can direct you to facilities or even toss a load in our washer for you. Not sure where to eat in town that suits your taste? We’ll recommend something (and can make a reservation if needed). If you experience any hiccups – like a car issue or lost luggage – remember, you have friends here. In one case, when a guest couple from overseas had car trouble, Marybeth personally picked them up from the repair shop in the evening so they wouldn’t be stranded

We take care of our guests like family.

Deep South Road Trip Friendly: Our B&B is used to accommodating the needs of road-trippers. We have flexible check-in if you’re arriving after a long drive (just call ahead), and we provide free maps and brochures of Natchez and the region. Interested in learning about the Civil War or antebellum architecture? We have books and self-guided tour info available. We can also connect you with local guides for specialized tours (plantation homes, African-American history, ghost tours – whatever your interest). For those on a multi-stop trip, we’re happy to suggest other quintessential Southern towns to visit. We want our European guests to fall in love with the South as much as we love it, and we’ll do everything to make your journey memorable.
